Thanks Soapy. What I am saying here also is that a character's personality has to sort of match up with an episode in a cartoon. If you look at each episode in the series, you will sort of see what he was acting like. Character's personalities look different in sequels. Charlie may have been goofy in the series, but to me, I just didn't care about it. He made the series very entertaining and thus it got many nominations.

I didn't say that all cartoons were made for comedy. The series was mostly made for comedy as well as teaching life lessons. Charlie still had a bit of his personality from the previous 2. In the 1st episode, he and Itchy were trying to con Carface and Killer into getting the Cafe back to Sasha. Then there was the episode where he went into the majic box and 3 more versions of him with different personalities (conning, romanticizing, and fighting). And the other was he lied a lot. Basically, I just didn't care much for his goofiness at all. I enjoyed the show and it got some nominations if you look at IMBD. The directors looked at the series and they had to see what his personality was going to be in order to make the show look good. Pretty much, they did a great job doing it as well as having some of his old bio from the 2 movies. What should his bio have been instead? By naming out episodes you remind me of what else made the show a hard case to enjoy for me. The stupid plotholes. You're making this sound like the episodes, no matter if they ruined continuity, where made to make Charlie act like he did in the movies...well they failed in both. Why? You mention the split personality episode...seriously..I find it annoying to accept that the con here www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-6Z9GIv6OQis the same con here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmU0CgOr2s0No..just no. As to his "bio" simple: Street smart, con man German Shepherd Mix from the 1930's, rough around the edges but with a heart of gold when you get to know him. Not goofy, meat loving goof as protrayed in the show. Also the show made him commit such stupid mistakes, like lying all the time to Annabelle, joining Belladonna for meat...ect. The dog in the second link wouldn't be as stupid to do that as the portrayal in the first. He isn't perfect, I know, but c'mon, some of the things he does in the show you can't take seriously..

Not to be rude man, but you seem to take this thing a bit too seriously. Everything that marines said is quite true. We all know that Charlie was good as a con man but people's personalities change. As soon as he saw Anne Marie crying after what he said at the old church, he was ashamed of himself and thus he changed. In the end, he went from a demeaning con man to a kind caring dog. Though Barkin was goofy in the series, I too enjoyed it a lot. You can go ahead and say negative things about his bio, but to a majority of the ADGTH fans, we don't care about it. There was a few things wrong with the series. 1. The animation was kinda bad. 2. Itchy, Carface, and Killer just instantly showed up in the very 1st episode 3. The episode where Charlie met Itchy was wrong since it showed the wrong year and place.
The other things that made this show quite good was: 1. Itchy getting a girlfriend, though she should have been in more episodes. 2. Not only was it funny, it taught important life lessons. 3. A new bad guy, actually girl, showing up. 4. The show getting some good nominations.
That's pretty much all I have to say now. Maybe we should not go more into Charlie's profile since I have feeling that this will eventually turn in an immature brawl.

Not to be rude man, but you seem to take this thing a bit too seriously. I'm the one who said let's get back to the VA's. People do change, but key personality traits remain and they don't act like something that was once second nature to them is alien. That's what I hated about the show. Charlie yes, has changed, A LOT. But c'mon, when did he get that dumb meat obsession? When did he become so gullible? When did he forget what money was? My problem is, he had a rough past, people with rough pasts that redeem themselves become steady individuals that bother to think about their decisions, even if they make the wrong ones, they bother to think about them. Charlie in the show didn't really..wich bugs me, makes it seem like all the development in the movies was for nothing. Sasha owning the Flea Bite also comes to mind..and god knows what else... The other things that made this show quite good was: 1. Itchy getting a girlfriend, though she should have been in more episodes. 2. Not only was it funny, it taught important life lessons. 3. A new bad guy, actually girl, showing up. 4. The show getting some good nominations. Two of those listed actually made the show even more annoying to me. Belladonna was a terrible villain. And Bess was out of nowhere, felt really ackward, her design was "bleh" and never really did anything for me to care about her (not saying she was a bad character...but I just don't give a bone about her, I saw her as wasted space and time). And lol..no. Just cause it got some good nominations doesn't mean it's good. Kuzco's show won an Emmy if I recall, and it was still bad, despite me loving the characters (even show characters). That's pretty much all I have to say now. Maybe we should not go more into Charlie's profile since I have feeling that this will eventually turn in an immature brawl. I already said, let's get back to the VA's. We all have our own opinions, and there's not much coming from discussing it, because there's no real chance for any our wishes (if we have them) to come true. Let's just drop this.

First of all, I don't want to cause a fight. Second, I haven't seen all the tv episodes, but I'll put in my two dog biscuits.
Many of the episodes of the series I've seen are a lot of fun and I enjoy them. I don't consider them an par with the first two films though. They did get some things right. Bess is so sweet! Itchy is back, And Charlie's exixtence just wouldn't be the same without Carface and Killer to make it interesting. But I do have several issues with the series besides some of the inconsistencies mentioned above.
1. Belladona. Good villian. Funny. I just don't think she's baddie of the century like many other ADGTH fans. Having Red back would have been fine with me instead.
2. Charlie and Sasha aren't really in love. While I like Charlie the bachelor, I wish they had kept the sweet, loving Sasha of ADGTH2 instead of the vain, angry businesswoman of the series.
3. Charlie and Sasha don't live with David. I know many of you don't like David for some strange reason, but the dog/human relationship of the ADGTH movies was such a huge part of the ADGTH magic. The series would have been better if they had had Charlie and Sasha having more adventures with David. It would have kept with the established movie plot and followed in the tradition of the many dog and child sagas.
4. Annabelle is sooooo mean and hypocritical. In the movies, she could hardly care less about the people on Earth and now she is super guardian angel (and it was David by the way who came up with the canine guardian angel concept in the first place). At the end of ADGTH2, I figured Charlie was now a hero who had earned a decent life on Earth. Annabelle is still haunting the poor dog and treating him like dirt. Poor Charlie!

To answer some of David's questions.
1. Something must have happened between the 2nd movie and the series that caused Sasha and Charlie to break up. Charlie probably did something very stupid to make Sasha the way she was in the series. But, there were some times where she was mad at Charlie when he did something very wrong. For instance, Charlie used that wolf pup just to show that he was a kind caring dog and when she found out, man was she angered at him which caused him to be ashamed of himself.
2. For living with David, maybe the parents decided to kick them out or Charlie and Sasha decided to live somewhere else. I agree that maybe there should have been more adventures with David, Charlie, and Itchy.
3. For Annabelle being mean to Charlie, well that's Charlies fault. He was screwing up quite a lot on his missions. You think that is good conduct? Again, people's personalities can change. The episode where he was lying a lot, I think Annabelle taught him a very valuable lesson about not telling him the truth by casting that long nose spell on him everytime he fibbed.
4. As for Belladonna, she should have been more evil. I doubt Red could have been brought back unless the horn was used.
For the meat obsessed personality, I can't seem to argue with that. Meat is one of the canine's top favorite meal in their diet.

Thanks for brining up the part where Sasha owns the Flea Bite Cafe. I wish the 1st episode showed everything on how Itchy, Carface, and Killer came back plus Sasha becoming the owner of the cafe.
As for Bess, I think she was a great character. In the episode Mutts Ado About Nothing, she and Sasha both planned to make Charlie and Itchy stop fighting plus she was ashamed of what Itchy did at the dog school renion.

Well Charlie Sheen is being very bad these days since that incident last December including last week. He has really seem to losing himself with all these bad acts. Pretty much, he is turning out like Mel Gibson. As for 2 1/2 Men, the show has gotten really bad since the last half of season 7 including the start of the season 8. He is just not making us laugh anymore. I hate how he acts and his new looks are just terrible.

Losing to be more exact. He has lost practically everything including his self esteem (which he has never had) and respect from his fans, family, friends, and HollyWood.
He needs to get kicked out.
