Chapter 1:
"Isn't he beautiful, Charlie?" Sasha eye's were welded with tears as she smiled at her puppy.
"Isn't he just?" Charlie replied. "Have you named him anything yet?" Sasha shook her head and she sighed.
"All that matters is that he's alive" Sasha said. Her other two puppies were born dead. The youngest one was the only one who survived. It was snuggled into his mothers leg, it's two tiny front legs hanging leaning in his mothers leg as he tried to scramble around the space he had that he considered was big when it was barely considered half a metre. Reason being, he wasn't allowed off the blue rags that had been left out for Sasha to lie on whilst the pups were being born.
"He's adventerous, I'll give him that" Charlie laughed, watching his son roll over on his back. Sasha nudged him with her snout to roll him back over on his stomach and his tiny legs climbed across the floor again.
"I know... like you are" she said, smiling. Her smile faded. "What if Scott gets him?"
"We don't need to worry about Scott with Alex on our side" Charlie said.
"I... I guess but what if Alex isn't enough? You know Scott will do anything to hurt us, Charlie... what if he get's this little guy?!" Sasha whimpered.
"For goodness sake, Sasha! He was a champion during the infamous dogfights, wasn't he?" Charlie said.
"Yes, but Scott wasn't there" Sasha hissed.
"Look, niether me or Alex will let Scott near this pup" Charlie said.
"Yes, because you scare him, don't you?" Sasha said sarcastically, rolling her eyes. "But fine... I guess you're the best I have." She giggled slightly at Charlies rather offended face. "I'm sorry... it had to be said though." She looked down at her pup, who yawned and looked a little peeved to be ignored so it started yipping. Sasha licked it softly and it shut him up and he fell asleep.
"Wow, he IS like you... a little whiny" Charlie joked. Sasha scowled at him. "So, what IS its name?"
"I don't know.... what do you think, Charlie?"
"I dunno... Charlie?"
"As in after you? Ha. In your dreams, Barkin" Sasha said, rolling her eyes. "What about... say... Ash?"
"Eck... Ash? That sounds disgusting" Charlie muttered.
"... yea, you're right, it does" Sasha said, hearing him talk. "Hm... well... what about Zaka?"
"Zaka? That's..." Charlie tried to find a fault in the name but what was there to fault? It was sweet, unique and it suited the young puppy well. Zaka Barkin... yes. It seemed perfect. "That's... brilliant."
"Is it?" Sasha asked. "It's about time you agreed with me on something!"
"Sorry" Charlie said, shrugging. Sasha nuzzled her puppy again.
"I can't wait to see him all energetic and stuff... but I wish he'll stay young forever as well... look at him" Sasha sighed. "So adorable and small..."
"Yea... it'll be a sad day for all of us when he moves out a guess" Charlie said, lying next to Sasha.
"I know..." Sasha sighed again. "But for now, he's here, and let's be happy about it." Soon, a knock on the door came.
"Oh... sorry I... um... there's a guy... outside..." Alex had poked his head around the door. "Itchy? Can he come in?"
"Yea, sure, let him in" Sasha said.
"Kay" Alex said, nodding, his head disappearing around the door. Sasha looked at her pup again. Zaka Barkin...
Chapter 2:
"TOSS IT HERE!" Zaka yelled to his friend Fetch, he struggled not to choke with a rather large tennis ball in his mouth. He chucked it in the air, sending it hurtling towards his twin brother, Retriver instead. Retriver kicked it with his hindlegs and it knocked over a perfectly piled stack of plates that Gerta spent ages cleaning. Retriver grimanced but before he could say sorry, Fetch grabbed his tail and dragged him backwards to prevent a mug falling on him. The two twin pups glared up to see Zaka poke his head out from above.
"Oops" he said, grinning apologetically. He rolled the ball around with his muzzle for a while before kicking it down with his foreleg. Fetch shoved it his his two front legs and Retriver ran along, knocking mugs, glasses and plates whilst he leapt onto tables. But before he could catch it, a feminine puppy jumped up and grabbed it in her small jaws.
"Hey!" Retriver whined.
"What's up, Retro?" Zaka asked, padding over. The female pup tried her best to smile with the tennis ball in her mouth and wagged her tail. She dropped it at Retriver's feet and grinned. "Who's the chic?"
"Baby chickens?! Where?!" the female said, her ears perching up and she panted excitedly whilst she looked around.
"Wow, she could be stupider than Fetch" Retriver whispered to Zaka, who sblack personed. Fetch wasn't the most... brightest bulb on the street. The female looked back at them and she smirked.
"See? Get's them everytime!" she said, giggling. "I'm Fergie, and you are?"
"Well, this is Retro who's real name is Retriever, over there is Fetch and I'm-"
"IN VERY BIG TROUBLE!" Zaka folded his ears back and winced to turn around and look at his mother. She looked really mad... probably past the word mad.
"Heh heh... hi mum" Zaka said, smiling sheepishly. He heard Fergie sblack personing. "So... um... y-you like my café makeover?"
"You are in DEEP... TROUBLE!" Sasha hissed. "Retriver, why don't you take your twin home now?"
"Yes Mrs barkin" Retriver said, folding his ears back and slinking off. Fetch gave a sympathetic smile when Sasha shot a look at them both.
"Um... we can help clean but... we need to... do... something..." Fetch said. Retriever snarled at his twin for bringing up cleaning.
"Yes..." Retriver said, going along however. "Um... yenno... something... important." The two twins ran off. Fergie, however, stayed.
"Don't you have somewhere to go too, sweetheart?" Sasha asked her. Fergie shook her head.
"My daddy is doing something with my mummy... going off to get rents off people who live in their territory" Fergie said. Sasha gave her a puzzled look but accepted it.
"Anyway, sorry if my son bothered you" Sasha said, glaring at her son, who folding his ears back again and frowned.
"No, infact, he was quite charming" Fergie said. "He was going to let me play with him... of course, I wouldn't because of all the mess that was happening and I caught the ball to stop them." Of course, this was all lies. Fergie would've happily joined in the destruction.
"Well... say goodbye to your friend, Zaka" Sasha said, sharply.
"Bye..." Zaka muttered. Sasha lifted him up in her mouth. Zaka knew he had a sharp and angry telling off by his mother and once his father showed up he'd start with Whoa, you did that? At YOUR age too? Jeez, I never even accomplished any of that! but with a sharp look from Sasha, he'd give him a stern talking to as well.
Just what he needed. As if.
*Sorry if there is typos... I suck at typing these days. Don't ask where I got the title from (*cough* SHE'S A REBEL, SHE'S A SAINT, SHE'S THE SALT OF THE EARTH YEA SHE'S DANGEROUS *coughcough*) What, did you really think I got it out of that awesome Green Day song, "She's a rebel"? Pf, tsh, pf... don't look at me like that.
