Background history: Miller was born to 2 Dobermans, the mom (May Miller) being a singer at local dog clubs and the dad (Major James Jackson) serving in the Marines. One night, James saw May perform at a local club and instantly fell in love when their eyes met. Months later, May gave birth to 6 beautiful pups. 3 boys: John, Jacob, Joshua and 3 girls: Misty, Alicia, and Ellie. A month later, James deployed to Iraq along with his battalion. Sadly, he was killed in the same truck convoy by an IED with Reiben's father. May and the pups travled out to Camp Pendelton to watch the funeral. Misty and April met and talked for days about how much they loved their mate as their pups became good friends. John decided to stay along with Reiben and both were adopted by a recruiting officer. When he and Reiben were 6 months old, they started training as sniffing dogs. As the training progressed, both were recognized by the trainers and were given honors. By the time they were 1 year old, they graduated as officers, Reiben being a Captain and Miller being a Lieutenant. Soon afterwood, they deployed to Iraq and started their first tour of duty. Reiben tracked and sniffed down IEDs, weapons caches, and enemy soldiers while Miller did scouting for his company. Over the years, Miller earned multipe military awards including the Purple Heart, Silver Star. Marine Corps Good Conduct Award, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, Navy & Marine Corps Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and eventually the Medal of Honor. Then a tragic event happened in Fallujah when Reiben and Miller were about to turn three years old. Reiben and his platoon were engaged by a heavy force of Iraq militants in the middle of the town. Miller spotted an enemy soldier with an RPG aimed at Reiben and some soldiers. He tried to bark out the position to him in order to warn the soldiers but the sound of the gunfire drowned out his voice. The soldier fired the rocket and it hit close to Reiben, his handler, and the group of soldiers. By the time the dust and smoke cleared, Miller noticed Reiben on his side, blood coming out of him and the friendly soldiers all dead. Using his instinct, Miller dashed out and put Reiben on his back, taking him to a nearby medical unit where they both were airlifted to a hospital. Miller spent time there recovering from some of the wounds he sustained in Fallujah while Reiben when through intensive treatment to heal from his wounds. While they were recovering from their injuries, the unit's high command reviewed the Fallujah battle situation and decided that it was time to let Reiben go. After being sent home with the company and discharged, Reiben walked out angered then Miller turned in his rank and followed him. They both now wonder the streets alone and looking to help out those in need of saving.
