Insane heat isn't really anything new here, unfortunately. It's not considered "hot" until it's 110 in the shade plus humidity and no wind whatsoever. We're all used to it, and our equipment is acclimated to such extremeties. Which is why it surprised me when the Arvest bank sign broke at 98 and they still don't have the darn thing fixed.

It's called summer, Wonder. Actually, Soapy, are summers here in Ireland are usually infested with heavy rain and we even got some snow once Suddenly, we're getting intense heat. Thus: CLIMATE CHANGE

Yeah, I heard you people on the Eastern Seaboard were complaining about it being 85 or some such ridiculously low number. Pfft! 85's nothing compared to a good ol' Arkansas summer. Arvest still doesn't have their sign fixed. Just in case anyone's wondering. I suspect it'll take 'em another two weeks or so. Nothing happens fast around here.

That's what happens when you live in the sticks. No offense Harli.

I live in the Carribean and 90 degree is normal here, specially in summer. But we've been having tons of rain lately instead of scorching heat.

Things are crazy down here in Atlanta, where I live. We're still having weather in the 90s and the official start of fall is only in a few days. Even in Hotlanta, it never stays this hot this late in the year and it isn't going to let up until at least Friday. We are dying down here! I wish Annabelle would send her 73 degree weather down to our corner of Earth.

If you guys think it's hot where you live, think again. It's been below average here in Southern California. 90% of the summer has been in the low to high 60s with less then a week of normal temperatures in July and August. We had a couple of days of drizzle plus some thunderstorms which came into my county in July. You may be complaining about the heat, but it is cold out here. Heck, the last weeks of summer haven't been that hot. Last year, it was hot. April of 09, it hit the 100s along the coastline on a Monday and it cooled by 10 degrees the next day. The 1st week of fall semester last year, it was the hottest ever felt at my college. In January this year, half the month was in the 70s and we had some warm days in the winter and spring.
