I doubt there will be any commercials, so don't hold your breath. ADGTH is pretty dead as far as general popularity goes. I mean WE know and love it, but not many people do and Don Bluth's classics since the 90s have been overshadowed by Disney/Pixar and Dreamworks. I haven't seen a single commercial for anything ADGTH since the sequel's release except for when the movies were shown on TV (which they are from time to time. Teletoon, YTV, BBC Kids here have had the movies at least once in the last few years). Not even a single ad for the DVD releases. I doubt the companies find it worth it to advertise an unknown (and not particularly adored on average) movie from 20 years ago.

Yeah I doubt there will be commercials too. If I see them though, I'll be very surprised. They're mostly likely to appear in movie previews.

MGM is still in that financial crisis. Making commercials and having them aired for a period of time costs money so yeah, there won't be a single commercial. I checked out YT and no commercial. I guess if we spread the message around the internet, maybe people will buy them.
Sunflash is right about the other movie companies. The CGI films have been dominating since 1998. Disney has been doing Blue Ray for their old 2D films with TV commercials. Recently, they aired 1 for the release of Bambi on Blue Ray.

Bambi was such a sad movie. I have the special edition on DVD plus the sequel to it. And how long has MGM been in these financial problems?

They have been in the crisis since November.
I think that putting the movies on Blue-Ray was not a good idea. Seeing movies in Blue-Ray is awesome, but ADGTH doesn't have a huge fan group like Disney does. If MGM had TV commercials for the movies, maybe a lot of kids who have never seen the movies before could buy them, but the problem is the reviews. With internet review sites, parents could check them out to see if the movie is good or not before spending a penny on the movie. Like everybody else said, CGI films are dominating the entertainment industry though Disney has rereleased a ton of its classic films on DVD. We could spread the message around the internet and see if people are interested, but who knows. I could make a video with pictures of the films and post them on You Tube. Maybe that could help.

Eww. The cover art is horrid for both. I'm tempted to say I could do cover art -way- better than that, which is sad, as I don't have much faith in my art. Are there any special features on these? original format, extras, etc? I can see no sense in adding them to my collection.

I agree with you Ashley and I highly doubt that there will be extras for the DVDs.
I might not make a video about ADGTH 1&2 coming out on DVD.

Don't be tempted, Ashely; it's the truth. You could easily come up with something better. And there wouldn't be a mass amount of anatomy errors, either. I've scoured the internet for any hint of bonus features, but turned up empty so far. Amazon does list the first film as being in widescreen, but it also has the sequel listed as "Not Rated," so I wouldn't put much faith in it.

Widescreen is actually slightly annoying. If I had to choose, I'd pick full screen.

It would be fun to have all the old commercials and previews from the films or a storybook mode.
