Heading back to Carface's place after running some errands, Killer passes by casually and notices the young female lying in the grass. In no hurry, he decides to make a friendly approach.
"Excuse me?" he pads over cautiously, wagging his tail, "Uh...I just came over to say 'hi'. I've never seen you around here before. By the way, I'm Killer."

SunFlash's ears percked up, and she got up "Hi Killer, I'm SunFlash, a Border Collie"

Killer grins and sits down, feeling more at ease in knowing the new dog is friendly.
"Pleased to meet ya, SunFlash," he nods, then asks at length, "So...where ya from?"

She scratched her yellow stripe "Can't really remember. I think I was from San Fran and I hopped a train to here. That was a few months ago. Been around the city just cheekin' things out"

Killer nods, familiar with dogs arriving on trains. It's not uncommon as New Orleans is a very transient area.
"All the way from California, huh?" he tilts his head to one side, "I'm from New York, myself. What made ya come to Louisiana? Uh...if ya don't mind me askin, hehe."

"Well, let me put it this way..." she points to her golden stripe "Humans spraypainted my white head-stripe yellow. Wanted to get away from them. Anyways, this place seems to be a lot more interesting"

Killer raises his eyebrows, though he's not surprised. He knows very well how cruel humans can be--intentionally or not.
"Well, I'm glad ya like it here," he replies, twitching an ear as some insect buzzes by, "W-were those humans your, uh...owners?"

"Used to be. I don't consider to be 'owners' anymore. Anyways, the ways of a stray includes a lot more freedom" SunFlash got back on her back

Killer can't really argue with that. Being a stray has its good points...unless your being a stray makes you beholding to a more dominant dog. In his case, he'd much rather be a slave to Carface than he would to a human.
"Humans can't be trusted," he states bluntly, scratching idly at his collar, causing it to spin around his skinny neck, "I speak from personal experience. In my opinion, a dog is much better off without 'em."

SunFlash nodded "Amen to that" she got up "Well, anything you do here to have fun Killer?"

Killer shrugs, sort of at a loss for an answer to that question. His idea of fun is probably a whole lot different as it comes from an older dog who'd sooner sleep the day away than engage in anything very exciting.
"Well, there's the casino," he replies after a moment of thoughtful silence, "Created by dogs for dogs, hehe. There's usually a big crowd there and lots of activity. My boss runs the place. If ya want, I can take ya there."

SunFlash wagged her tail "Sure, why not"

Killer then rises and stretches his limbs with a jaw-cracking yawn and shakes his fur, then beckons SunFlash to follow him.
"C'mon," he nods, setting off at a trot toward the casino, "It's not far--only a couple blocks down from here."
When they reach the old freight ship on the bayou, Killer leads the border collie straight through the main entrance, nodding to the door dog in response to his grumbled greeting.
"Well, here we are," he announces as they enter the main area of the casino where dogs are watching rat races or lingering at the bar, "Make yourself at home."

SunFlash padded in more, looking around in amazement "Wow, did dogs build this?"
