Weber was supposed to give Charlie a goofy attitude in the series so that it could make us laugh. Sheen was a bit of a wannabe, but he had a good heart still. Reynolds was definitely the top best for Charlie's voice.

Yeah. I thought Charlie was more goofy in the series.

Er...why is it that many movie protagonists turn goofy when they star in their own cartoon series? >_<
Only fun thing about Charlie having 3 different VA's is that we get to see 3 different interpretations for the character..but ofcourse...it turns continuity wacky.

Well Mr.Kameinu, cartoons are mostly made for comedies to make kids laugh. That is why Charlie's bio was a bit goofy. As for the 3 different voice actors, you are correct. Charlies's personality in the 1st was a con-man/mostly bad guy and Reynolds was choosen because he had that look, personality, and voice. In the second, he was a slick-cool talking ladies man, and so Sheen was picked because he had that personality, and you see it in his character on 2 1/2 Men. Weber was a good pick for Barkin in the series because Weber himself starred in some comedy shows I think and his profile was a good pick.

Well Mr.Kameinu, cartoons are mostly made for comedies to make kids laugh. Not all cartoons are strictly comedies. They all have humor in them, yes. But there is no need to turn the main character into a complete goofball when he first wasn't to make a show funny. Same thing happened to another personal favourite of mine, Kuzco from the Emperor's New Groove, he was already funny before his show, but when he got it, he too turned into a goofball. When Sticth an Jimmy Neutron got their own TV shows they DIDN'T turn into goofballs. Yet their shows where pretty funny (specially Jimmy's). But this discussion is for the VA's. They are not in fault for the direction Charlie's character was taken. They just develop what the writers have given them (so I mentioned the interpretations). End point, you don't have to turn a non goofy protagonist into one to make the show funny. There's a thing call "supporting cast".

And any way, there are more types of cartoons what are made to be serious.

That's what I like about anime. The writers tend to take the story more seriously and not make a mockery of it like alot of US cartoons tend to do.
But anime tends to be a touchy subject.
Let's get back to the VA's. =)

I didn't say that all cartoons were made for comedy. The series was mostly made for comedy as well as teaching life lessons. Charlie still had a bit of his personality from the previous 2. In the 1st episode, he and Itchy were trying to con Carface and Killer into getting the Cafe back to Sasha. Then there was the episode where he went into the majic box and 3 more versions of him with different personalities (conning, romanticizing, and fighting). And the other was he lied a lot. Basically, I just didn't care much for his goofiness at all. I enjoyed the show and it got some nominations if you look at IMBD. The directors looked at the series and they had to see what his personality was going to be in order to make the show look good. Pretty much, they did a great job doing it as well as having some of his old bio from the 2 movies. What should his bio have been instead?
