OOC: *Blows off dust* Geez I'm getting out of practice. Maybe this'll do me some good. I finally have internet on a daily basis, so I thought I'd celebrate by pulling poor Harli out of the closet.
BIC: Harli lay sprawled out on the fire escape leading to her apartment, surrounded by another pile of junk she'd found. It was overcast in New Orleans, but the sun looked like it was making a desperate effort to break through the clouds. Down the street, Harli could see some street vendors. The smell of gumbo was enticing, but she didn't need food. She'd alreay liberated the stands twice that week and had found some delicious chicken enchiladas to go with the crawfish ettouffe she was eating. She started to stretch, but hit her paw on the portable radio perched on the railing and knocked it off. She poked her head through the bars and watched it fall, hit the pavement with a loud crash, and bust into a million pieces. "Oops."

Dale was walking across the pavement at that point. He was looking around, throughly bored. Dale always had long walks when he was tired, thoughtful, stressed or if he just felt like it. He watched the clouds crowd the sun and sighed. He hated cloudy weather but this was the least of his problems. He shook off his mood and continued to walk on. After all, what other option did he have, he didn't want to go home and he'd be kicked out of anyone elses territory. Then... CRASH! "What the-" Dale yelped and stumbled back from the crashing radio. He stared at the broken peices for a moment and looked up at the sky. "What kinda weather is this?!" He saw Harli poke her head through the bars and rolled his eyes. "What have you got against me?" Dale yelled up so she could hear him, and he held his paws up defensivly. "I'll give you anything, just don't try and kill me again!"

Harli grinned sheepishly when she noticed how close the radio had come to hitting a pedestrian. "I'm sorry!" She yelled down. "It was an accident. But I can make it up to you. Are you hungry?" She held up the bowl crawfish ettouffee to emphasize her point.

"Ah, its not a problem really, its not the worst thing that happened to me!" Dale shrugged. "Accidents happen and yea, I am pretty hungry! I'll be up there in two secs!" Dale looked for a way to get up and saw some sort of ladder. Jumping up and gripping the bars tightly as his paws could he climbed up. He was soon joining Harli and smiled at her when he got up. "Do you live here?" he said, sitting down beside her.

"Yep." Harli said, handing him a bowl of the ettouffee. "Just me and my uncle. He's in Georgia right now so we don't have to worry about him." She passed him a plate of chicken and dug a bottle of soda out of a box of junk.

"Sweet... I live with a pack in our alleyway... its gets a bit crowded sometiems buts its a great place to be sometimes, I'm proud to call it home" Dale said, starting on the food. "You and your Uncle... and he's in Georgia... wow" Dale said. "So you have a whole apartment to yourself, that must be great!"

Harli grinned. "I have the whole building to myself! There aren't any humans in it anymore. It's wonderful, but the first floor has some water damage. And the wood by the door to my place has rotted through, so I don't go through the building. The fire escape's more effective." She polished off the remnants of her meal and set the bowl in her junk box. "I did the whole pack thing for a bit, but I just got too crowded. I wasn't really friends with any of them, either. I'm not originally from here, so I didn't know anybody. We all lived in that junkyard on the west end of town." She smiled, remembering her first few weeks in New Orleans. "I had an old Model T Ford the I lived in."
