Now here's my very first fanfic. It's quite short, so it wouldn't bore you too much to read it. The original text is in Russian, but I've translated it into English and I think that the text has lost some of its drama. Some methaphors were intranslatable, but I did my best. Please don't mind the mistakes and the grammar too much, ok? And, pleeease, tell me what you think about the text, it means a lot to me. So, here goes the text:
***They wished to name him Charlie***
The rain. Nasty drizzle has been falling for two days, but Charlie and Sasha did not care about it, as well as about anything else around them...
Two months ago they have decided to make a pup. "Hey, that's the way the world goes - breeding is kinda sense of life" Charlie thought. He has seen several times how happy families with newborns are... Sasha kept convincing him that he should stop looking for adventures like a little pup and become a respectable family member. Charlie and Sasha quarrelled alot about that. They have even stopped talking to each other for weeks. But today Charlie has made his decision...
Naked forest trees which were blackened by the rain, looked like hunched old men, silently observing two dogs. The dogs' fur has turned grey because of irresistable sorrow, they looked like they were bound to the ground. They stared upon...
There was one more reason for Charlie to delay his decision. Before sending him back to Earth, Annabelle has told him about his "returning price". The price was that Charlie couldn't have more than a single child in his family. "OK", Charlie replied, "kinda fair deal, I ain't gonna have any children at all anyway".
But in due course the price had it's bitter consequences. When he has told Sasha about it, she got totally upset and depressed. She stayed in her corner, crying all the time. Charlie tried to convince her that one is better than nothing, and though he has eventually convinced it, as with her that it is possible to live on with that, Sasha could never reconcile with that. And each time, passing along the street her heart was painfully gripped by envy - a total of six puppies barked behind the neighbour's house fence...
Washing away the death-smeling ground from the hand-made hill, streamlets of water go down to the paws of the heart-broken parents...
It was a nice sunny summer day, not a cloud in the sky. “So heavenly” - Charlie flinched because of memories of his extremely boring time in Heaven.
Charlie has been all gloomy and anxious for two weeks already - Sasha has been carrying their precious baby for these two weeks. Charlie tried to stay with Sasha as often as possible to make sure she was safe. Paranoia overwhelmed his mind and Sasha's, so they were afraid of leaving home - it was too risky to harm their only child...
Just on the next day Anabelle cheered them up - she told them it is going to be a boy. Sasha was delighted by this news - she dreamed of a boy-pup since she knew about the Charlie's "returning price". Charlie also
got better because Sasha has finally got out of depression...
Darkness fell upon the forest and the rain all did not stop, having soaked up Charlie and Sasha, flown down on their lowered heads, mixing up with tears...
The summer came to an end, and Sasha could almost touch her stomach with her paws while walking. "Only one child" Charlie noticed with a bitter grin, "and such belly. Only one child"...
Pregnancy had an effect on Sasha 's mood - it changed about three times per minute. And, of course, Charlie had to get used to this because he could not leave her alone not even for a short while. There was a case when Sasha has been crying the whole day, refusing both food and water. Charlie often thought that he would better never decide to make a child, but again and again he blocked these thoughts.
Relentless, incessant rain... Charlie stared senselessly at the cross made of two branches tied with a blue stripe of cloth taken from Sasha's possessions...
"I am certainly the most patient dog on the Earth" Charlie thought while listening to another portion of Sasha's hormonal delirium. Only one week left before the birth, and both Sasha and Charlie had their nerves on the limit. "A week, just one week, and it's over" Charlie tried to cool himself down. "Something's missing" - a thought popped out. "A name!"
“A name!” – Charlie said it aloud. “ What? ” – Sasha asked angrily. ”Only a week left, and we haven't yet thought of a name for our son!” Charlie explained. Sasha has suddenly became glad: "Oh Charlie, it's so nice of you to remember that!". The rest of the day was spent by thinking of a name...
Sasha was all nervous and jumpy today - their only child is to be born! She sent Charlie to go for a walk - there is nothing he can do for her now, she must do it on her own, alone. Charlie knew the rules and went out for the whole day. He decided to go to the Fleabite to inform everyone of his happiness. He stayed there 'till the evening, all itchy and jumpy...
Next morning, just as Sasha told him, he ran home. He was running like it was Hell behind him - a child, a child! Finally, he arrived home, carefully coming into the room with a silly smile on the face...
... He has never seen Sasha in such condition. She looked like she was five years lder than she is. She was standing over a basket where their newborn son must have been lying. Sasha was shaken by silent sobbings, tears dripped on the lifeless body of their first and last child - he was born dead...
Two dogs sit before a little hand-made hill, topped with a hand-made cross, not able to cry anymore, staring senselessly an the grave. They know, that all dogs go to heaven, but it doesn't make things easier... There is no name written on the cross where buried's name must be.
They wished to name him Charlie.
