Expect typos
WEll it had been three weeks in heaven and Hanz was already going crazy. These dogs are just too .....too...nice, he thought to himself. Plus that annoying Annablle fllowed him EVERYWHERE. She kept on telling him totally pointless things like who had done what and why and WHO CARES! ALl he wanted was a quiet place, his own slice of heaven. Apprently that was the one thing unavailible in Heaven, privacy. At least He was starting his Guardian Angel classes today. He was a little nervous he ahd heard a lot about "Silvanus Snarl, the sternest dog in Heaven," or "Silvanus Snarl the only dog never to smile upon entering heaven" Well at least Hanz had diproved the last theory he wasn't too happy when he go there eitehr. As Hanz walked over to the class room, well he couldn't really call it a class "room" persay. The class was in a beautiful parka dn the only indication of a school was the blackboards floating in the air. OF course.....Annnabelle was following him and she told him to wait a minute. So seeing a momnet of free time Hanz looked around, this would have been a great plce if it hadn't been filled with other barking dogs, lectures, etc. It was like...living in the city. "Hanz , Hanz, this is your proffesor, Silvanus Snarl! She said in her annoying over quirky tone. Hanz turned around to see a huge muzzle drooping in front of him "Hello, Mr, "he pulled out a clipboard "Schultz?. Is that right, please tell me if it isn't I hate pronouncing the names of students wrong..it sounds so uneducated" ""YA that is my name, Schultz, " he added the last part with a little anger. His father had left his mom as soon as he had heard teh news. He was embaressed to carry that name. "So MR. Snarl, " HE put out his paw" Looks like I'm a new student of yours, so what will we be lecturing on today" Snarl looked at Hanz's paw and took it hesitently "Well of course you are a new student,"He said his eyes rolling" OTehrwise you wouldn't have been brought ehre, and you will know what we are lecturing about when you get to class...." Snarl turned around and left heading to a grouping of blackboards. "Wow," Annablelle said. "What is he alwaya such a snob" Hanz said, a little insulted "No, he was actually not nearly as bad as usual with you Hanz, maybe he see's potential! Usually he just tells them to take a seat, never shakes there Paw, and hardly ever speaks to them the first day. He usually waits till he knows you better. " Hanz felt a little better about that now, but he still had to make it through teh class. He started to walk towards Snarl as he saw otehr dogs moving towards him, apparently Snarl's class was about to start. "O, you better go..he he.. Snarl's class is gonna begin soon" Annablelle giggled "Well see you after class, then I can introduce you to Mark barker, the dog who opened the first door! Won't that be fun!" Hanz rolled his eyes and walked over towards Snarl

My turn.
Snarl Meets Hanz
Another boring day, toiling in the drudgery of the HQ Angel Academy, dodging spitwads and struggling to maintain self-control amid the foolery of a shirking group of ingrates who dared to call themselves angels in training. The last thing Silvanus Snarl needed is one more unruly student to stare down. Naturally, that overly-cheerful purple whippet found it in order to bring him what she thought was good news. "I bring you good tidings of great joy, Mr. Snarl," she giggled, triggering an inward groan on Silvanus's part, "There has been a new recruit into your blessed class! Here's the files on his past performance. He'll be here shortly." Silvanus frowned at the parchment she'd shoved in his face, narrowing his eyes at the fancy lettering and skimming its contents. With a trademark snarl of his long, pointed nose, he stuffed the papers amid the shelves of permanent records in his office. Hearing his class causing a ruckus as they entered the school grounds, he sighed and raked a clawed forepaw through the silken ebony fur framing his sober, stone-like face. This was going to be a long day. He padded out just in time to see Annabelle leading his new student in a few moments before the rest of the class arrived. "Hanz, this is your professor, Silvanus Snarl," Annabelle was saying as he came to stand before the slightly smaller canine. Silvanus studied the young dog known as Hanz Schultz, eyes narrowed and penetrating. Indeed, he saw intelligence and, therefore, potential. "He will--pardon the expression--take you under his wing," the whippet giggled, "And teach you everything he knows." "Providing you don't prove to be an arrogant, insolent juvenile delinquent intent on mocking the instruction of an elder," Silvanus added in a warning tone, gesturing to the rest of the class as they ambled in and immediately began loading straws in preparation for the rapid-fire spitwad attack, "In my class, respect is not given freely. It must be earned. Same applies to trust. Welcome to the class." "Oh, he's accepted you!" Annabelle gushed, "Isn't that fabulous?" With that, she fluttered off, leaving Silvanus to begin his monotonous lectures. Approaching a blackboard, he immediately raked his claws down its surface, causing every student to howl and wince at the grating sound. Then they were dead quiet. "Now that I have your undivided attention," Silvanus stated, examining his claws, "Let us begin with--" He was cut off by an airborne halo whizzing past his head, missing him by a mere inch. He caught the halo as it was in mid-rebound to its owner. With a stern expression, he paced over to the gutsy mongrel who'd dared to throw it at him--a certain Charlie Barkin. "I am not amused," he snarls, then crams the halo down over Charlie's head, binding his front legs to his sides, "Clearly, you enjoy my company, Mr. Barkin. I'll see you in detention after class." Charlie squirmed in his halo and muttered incoherently under his breath as Silvanus walked back to the blackboard. "Today, we will be discussing how to properly use a halo," he said in his monotonous teaching tone, drawing some figures on the board with a piece of chalk, "You might do well to take notes on this lecture, Mr. Barkin."

Hanz could already tell after his first calss that this was not going to be easy. It was going to take a lot of work, and a good attention span bcause this Snarl just went on and on. He like Snarl, he was a good stern teacher, and didn't say anything if it didn't have a purpose or a reason to do so...... unlike a lot of dogs here. HE had met some other dogs, mainly Charles Barkin, and his pal Itchy. HE found them to be OK company. Charlie jsut couldn't shutup so Hanz foundt that a little annoying. Hanz didn't like to talk, or speak out if he didn't see a point to it. Itch was better, he would mostly just agree to what Charlie said, or complain. Well either way Hanz had to finish this course. When he was finally allowed to leave the.....class.....if that is what you want to call it he walked over towards Snarl and wnated to ask him how long he epected this course to take. "AHem, excuse me MIster Snarl, I was wondering if you might give your estimate for how long you think it will be before the course is finished?" Snarl looked at him and put up a smile and luaghed, soemthing that Hanz didn't think anyone ever saw becuase of one, Snarls attitude and two because it looked pretty scary. "Mr Schultz, this is jsut the begining course, you have to take this course plus about 50 to 100 other classes before you can go down. THat is what you wanted right, to go back down, that is why this course is so hard." His smile faded fast and he looked at Hanz However, I can put students in a fasttrack course that gets them out there in about 3 years, the other way usually take up to 100 years, the classes last about one year, but my fastrack students have everything crammed in that I believe they need. They are often dogs who Know most of what they teach in the other classes through personal experiance. I only choose three a year, they are how should I put this, ...the elite of the elite. I mena it takes a lot to just get to this point of being in this calss you were just in." Hanz looked at Snarl and though about what he had said. Hanz couldn't wait a 100 years to get out of here, He would go crazy. I must make it to his fastrack course, Hanz thought to himself. "Mr. Snarl what so you look for in the students you pcik for your fasttrack course?" Hanz Inquiered "Well, not to sound mean, but I usually look for students who have had a great deal of suffering in their earthly years, I only say that because they usually know what they are going to have to deal with down there and almost always have the ability to make good quick decisions." Hanz wanted to say that he fit the description but he held his tounge. "Ok then," HE said instead"I will try to meet those requirements" Snarl looked Hanz stright in the eyes, not trying to show agression but to make sure Hanz listened adn understood what he was about to say "MR. Schultz, realize, in saying that you have just informed that you want me to single you out for the toughest exercises, all the dificult partners in training groups, and every otehr possible difficulty I can put in you way, but if you manage to do that for say..... months, a long 8 months, I will put you in my fasttraack." Snarl tunred away and walked towards Charlie and told him to start naming off a list of reasons why he had thrown the Halo at him. Hanz walked away and was, unfortuanently, greeted by Annabelle as soon as he wlked away form Snarl. "So how was your first day" She said in a giddy motherly tone. She whipped back her head so her robe would puff out, "Was it exciting, fun, boring......." Hanz droned out the rest and jsut answered yes and no . He had o work and ..hey what is that, hanz looked over towards a shady tree, in a knothole in the trunk he could have sworn he saw a face, just like Annabelles looking right at him, Well no bother. All I have to do is make it into that class, then I can finally get out of here. HE looked at Annabelle and sighed, please let me make it into that class. He thought ot himself as Annabelle droned on and on as they walked.

Silvanus was ready to drop by the time class was over for the day. Of course, a teacher's work is never done. After dismissing his students, he had to sit around and grade performances. Pulling files out of the shelves, he reluctantly plunged into what remained of his work for the day. "Charlie Barkin: failure and detention...big surprise," he muttered to himself, glancing out of his office to be sure the said student was polishing halos as was his detention assignment, "Honestly, I don't know why I don't expell him..." "Are you...talking to yourself?" Hanz's voice penetrated his thoughts, causing him to jump a bit. He eyed the new student pensively. "I tend to talk to myself frequently," he answered in a hollow tone, "Often, I'm the only one who will listen to me." If Hanz was as sharp as Silvanus perceived him to be, he would pick up on the sad truth in that statement. It was extremely rare if any student listened to his lectures with complete focus and attention. "Can you give me an estimate on how long you think it will take to complete this course?" Hanz asked at length. Silvanus blinked and mechanically removed the reading glasses resting on the bridge of his long nose, his narrowed eyes steadily focused on this daring young pupil. He stared blankly for a moment, then broke into a laugh so out of character coming from him, it was a bit frightening. "That, Mr. Schultz, is a difficult question for me to answer," he replied, his features suddenly returning to the expression that might as well have been etched in stone, "If you plan to take my classes with the same attitude Mr. Barkin does, you'll be here for all of eternity. He's been here 65 years if you're calculating by earthly time. I expect I am stuck with him forever lest some miracle befalls us." His gaze shifted to Charlie once again as he heaved an exasperated sigh, idly clicking his glasses against his bared teeth. After a moment or two, he focused his attention on Hanz once more. Having given the matter some thought, he began telling Hanz about his fast-track course reserved for angels with the qualities required to meet his high standards. He was a bit surprised when Hanz told him he wanted to attempt to get in. "I will monitor you for a trial period of 6 to 8 months, Mr. Schultz," he said after considering things carefully, "I will expect more from you than I do the others. You will be singled out for the most grueling of assignments. If I find you fit to withstand the pressure, I will take you into the fast-track course, which, I might add, is a one-on-one course. Anyone accepted into the fast-track program attends scheduled private classes involving only himself and his teacher. You will have my undivided attention...providing I have yours as well." Hanz's nod confirmed that he understood what Silvanus was telling him. The seasoned professor pulled out Hanz's file and stamped "fast-track prospect" on the header, then returned the file to its shelf. "You are now under the eagle's eye, Mr. Schultz," he reached out and shook the younger dog's paw, "I wish you the best of luck. Keep in mind that trust and respect are two key factors of getting into the fast-track class. Earn my respect and prove you are trustworthy and you're in, but also keep in mind the simple fact that--" "He's a meticulous tyrant who's impossible to please!" Charlie wailed from outside the office, "You won't get anywhere, kid! He'll always find something wrong!" "Silence!" Silvanus barked, instantly halting any further comments from Charlie, then turning calmly to Hanz, "That will be all, Mr. Schultz. I will see you in class tomorrow." Silvanus then rose to his feet and padded out to demand Charlie's reasoning behind the inappropriate halo-hurling. After quite a bit of stammering and stuttering, Charlie found himself writing "I will not throw my halo during lectures" repeatedly on one of the enormous blackboards. "I want that thing covered, Mr. Barkin," Silvanus states monotonously, indicating he expects Charlie to write the same sentence all across the entire board, "I will be in my office." "Wait!" Charlie whined, "How do you spell 'lecture'? Snarl? Yoo-hoo...? Oh...blast."

The last 7 months had been a nightmare, this wasnt heaven this was hell. He had to work on Snarls stupid assignments that must have had no purpose except that Snarl liked to keep himself busy. Also he had been stuck with that Charlie fellow who drove him mad, betweeen gritted teeth Hanz would luagh or talk but he couldnt wait to get out of there. ANd then there was the shadow that seemed to follow him. Freqeuntly now he was seeing a figure who looke dlike Annabelle around heaven when he had a moment alone from Annabelle. Yes Annabelle had taken a liking to Hanz and decided to follow him everywhere and tell him all sorts of pointless things. When the day finally came that Hanz was asked by Snarl to come see hm after classHanz was as happy as a..welll a dog. "yes Snarl you wanted to see me" Hanz said as he walked up towards Snarl, Hanz was clearly anxious to hear good news. He couldn't stop fidgiting with his tail. "Well Mr. Schultz, I have been watchin you and giving you assignements andI believe that you would be able to handle my class.." Hanz didn't even wait for Snarl to finish before he howled with delight
"..but, now this means you will be in another course, this course takes place on earth, in a city, you do mainly field training in my class now.Hanz thought just gettin in the class was great, now he got to go back to earth too. He could hardly contain his excitement. His tail started to thum against the ground to a point where is was hard to hear Snarl over the noise, "Also i will soon introduce you to the 3 other members of the class" Noticing Hanz's happiness he also added" BUt realize that this doesnto mean te3h work is over, no no, it has jsut begun!"Hanz didn't care about these harsh words meant to bring him back to...well earth! He was jsut flat out excited that he was out of class with that Barkin, was gonna be a gardian Angle in one year, and got to go back to earth!!

The seven months were no joy ride for Silvanus either. Hanz's "probation" was constantly slowed or all out interrupted by Charlie's foolishness. Silvanus was almost always disciplining him in some way, shape or form. It never failed. However, by some miracle, he was able to keep a vigilent eye on the student eager to move from Cloud 9--Silvanus Snarl's "public" classroom. "Congratulations," the stone-faced professor said hollowly to Hanz as he organized the said angel's files, finding all reports satisfactory, "It appears you've met the standards to make it into the strictest of classes, Mr. Schultz. Bear in mind that getting in is not the hardest part. Your staying in all hinges on your performance. Maintain it as you have on Cloud 9 and...well, you should be on your way to being a full-fledged guardian angel." He pulled out a piece of parchment and filled in some information, stamped his pawprint on it, rolled it up, pinned it with an angel wing pendant, then handed it to Hanz. "This is written proof that access has been granted," he stated simply, placing the scroll in Hanz's paws, "It will probably never happen, but in the event in which I am not here to teach, this will be proof to a substitute that you have been accepted. Keep it in a secure place where you'll know exactly where it is should you need it. I recommend that you wear the pendant as you'll need that to give you access to earth." Filing away the rest of Hanz's records into a single folder, Silvanus put the folder in his cloak and moved out of his office to step back onto Cloud 9, beckoning Hanz to follow. "You will be expected to report back here on Cloud 9 every day at 6:00 in the evening--sharp," Silvanus explained, "I'm not on earth very often and you will need me as a mentor in this paws-on earth training, so you will have to meet me here and we will go to earth together. You may stay on earth during your free time, providing you remain punctual when classes are to start. If you're late, you will be placed on probation." Where things stood, Silvanus was bound to a tight schedule. In the morning every day, from six until three, he had to teach his normal class, then starting at six in the evening, he had to make his rounds teaching the fast-track students. Needless to say, he had his paws full. "When you meet me up here at six," he continued, "You will most likely be accompanied by others in the fast-track course. Anyone in such a course is expected to meet me here at six every evening before training begins. You'll want to remember your copy of the rule book. Keep it with you at all times as you may need to refer to it quite often. I believe that is all you need to know for now. You shan't be going to earth today, but be here at six tomorrow evening and your new course will begin. By then, your pendant will be activated so you will have permission to pass through the gates. I wish you luck, Mr. Schultz." With that, Silvanus bid Hanz farewell and he left Cloud 9, hoping to catch a little bit of rest before evening classes began for fast-track students already enrolled.

Hanz couldn't belive all the stupid restrictions he had on his visits! The rule book must have weighed 10 pounds and was.....enormous! Hanz thought that gettin down to earth would be great, but after all the restrictions he had to reply to...it didnt' look as great as he though. Well at least he didn't have to wake up at 6am anymore, he could sleep in.
"Ackkk!!!!!! Its almost 6pm!" hanz rushed towards the designated place where he andSnarl were supposed to meet. FLying at full speed he knew he might be late, luckily no one else got in is way and he made with just a minute to spare. "Very close" said Silvanuse looking at one of the clocks in heaven. "Another minute and you would have been late. Hopefully this does not fortell that happening, doesn't it Mister Schultz?" "No of course not, there was a lot of others flying around, well lets get passed that and head down" HAnz was very eager to get back down to earth! Luckily Snarl wasn't nearly as street smart, so Hanz felt he would be able to get away with a lot more than he should have been able to. As he and Snarl walked over to the portal where guardians angels headed to earth he started to get excited, so excited that he embaressed himself and started thumping his leg. Luckily no one ...but Silvanus noticed this. As they flew down the portal Hanz was overcome with happiness at seaing the Ocean and buildings.(Ahh, this is where I would like to stay) Hanz thought to himself (no more of this heaven!) As soon as they touched down Snarl started to assign hanz things to do. "Now , Mr. Schultz, the first thing I want you to do is hide your pendant on your collar, this collar will make you vi" "ya, I know, it will make me visible"broke in Hanz, he cringed as soon as he said this quickly apologized."So what are we gonna do first"Said Hanz eagerly. He couldn't wait to walk around and explore where he was. "Well, this is LA, Hanz, there are a lot of problems here and I thought that this would be a great place for your first partnered assignment, yes hanz. When we come down to earth I don't "teach' Persay, more or less I guide you through hands on experience. Ah..here comes your first mission now!" Snarl pointed to a little girl crying in an alleyway. "Ok, well ...hmm...what happened to her"Hanz asked so he could know what he wa dealing with. "I cant tell you Hanz, you must approach and ask her, don't worry about blowing it, most of the time students always screw up their first assignement" Hanz approached the little girl nervously ((For those of you expecting to be Anne Marie...it isnt)) "Umm..Hello there! I'm hanz and I am here to help" He closed his eyes and thingyed his ears expecting a scream of fright from the girl. Instead she grabbed him around the neck and hugged him tightly. "Thankyou" she said as she looked up to the sky " I..I...am Lisa, and...and...and...." She didn't finish her snetance but burst into tears, hugging Hanz so tightly he was afraid she would strangle him. "My..Big brother ..wants to join a gang..but I know what will happen to him if he does, he will get hurt, bad! I don't hat to do!" She then burst into tears again
OOC hope it doesnt bother anyone that I am using more problem that I am using, I didnt't want to beat a dead horse and use a missing child type problem

Silvanus stood at a distance, though he made sure he was always within Hanz's eyesight. Able to read expressions quite well, he would be ready to help Hanz out if the need arose, plus eye contact with the mentor usually helped students remain confident. With a snap of his claws, he got a microphone activated on the halo around his neck so he could vocally communicate with Hanz in a walkie-talkie-type system rigged in his collar. "Remember what you've been taught," he spoke in a firm, steady tone, "Evaluate the problem, make a mental list of possible solutions, and pick the one that is most likely to have the desired outcome." Hanz nodded and managed to pry his neck from the child's grasp, pausing to shake himself and take a few deep breaths, grateful to be able to breathe freely once again. Mentally following Silvanus's instructions, he believed he had come up with a stroke of brilliance. "Okay, kid," Hanz replied confidently, leaning close to whisper in her ear, "Here's the plan: we set up a stakeout--spy on your big bro and the juvenile delinquents he wants to hang out with. He'll most likely have to pass some initiation tasks before he's allowed to join. All we've got to do is make sure he fails." Silvanus, listening to all this, felt uncertain and he put a forepaw to his head in an "oh, brother" gesture. He had faith in Hanz, but he had his doubts about this scheme of his. Catching the student alone, he decided to give him a little more advice. "If this is really what you plan to do," he says in a low tone, "Just see to it that no one gets hurt. Humans are fragile and quite stupid, so be sure to think ahead to the consequences of each action performed. Understood?" "Crystal clear, sir," Hanz replied with a salute, "Don't worry about it. It's a piece of cake. Trust me." Silvanus sighed and shook his head. "I'm trying to. I just hope you know what you're doing."
