Wow, 5000 toy soldiers? That is a LOT. But that does sound like fun though. I collect something similar to that, it is called Mage Knight. Do you have any soldiers from the middle ages?

That is a lot. That's atleast an entire division. I have a lot of legos that have accumulated at my parents house. I literally have more than 100,000 pieces back home. Sometime build things, generally where they have intricate working parts like this B-3

That is very nice Shadow. ;D Hmm...the only thing that I make that is somewhat difficult is maille. What makes it difficult is that you have to make the coils very carefully, or you will have very odd looking rings.

I have a collection of maybe 250 sea shells. I went scavenging down Florida's beach (I think it was either Daytona or Jacksonville) after Hurricane Irene struck a few years ago. They were all collected on the first 3 days of the storm. I also found a battered beach chair and hammock. 5000, ok, now that is 20 times more than I have sea shells .

The B-3, the pneumatics rais and lower the tripod landing gear via an airtank (which is recharged via pump), the aireloins/elevators are controlled from the Pilot's thingypit, the bombay doors are opened via a wheel from the bombardiers seat (behind the pilot), both of the V-10 engines have pumping pistons, radiators, spark plugs, and fuel lines to the fuel tanks, there are all the correct controls in the cokpit, as well as a radio (radio aeiril is on top of the plane), and a WWII era radar. There is also a movable tailgun with a seat for the tailgunner (technic tailgunner, I think they are like 6 inches tall), and forward guns. I spared no detail, came up with the design on my own, and had it built in 2 and a half days (I only had a little less than a week off from school, at my parents house, then I had to fly back).
Did you mean mail, as in chain mail?

Well, yes that is what I mean. But the word chainmail is a misnomer. It can be difficult to make at first. Especially if you have small wire cutters! You can also seriously injure yourself making maille.

the best way to make them is with a furnace, anvil, thongs, hammer, and such, or some people use an acetylene torch instead of a furnace.

You would use that if you were trying to make a weapon or plate armor. The materials for maille is very easy to come by. The basic materials are: a spool of wire, two needle nose pliers, leather gloves, a pole to make coils, something to cut the rings (I use bolt cutters, they are much easier on the hands but leave a pinch cut) and lots of patience. If you were making riveted maille, then you might want to use a torch to anneal the rings, so it is easier to punch a hole in it.

Well, I have probably more than a 1000 rings. I've thrown away around 100 of them when I first started making rings.

WHAT?! Are you crazy Jon? See, the rings I'm talking about are the rings that I weave to construct armor. (Right now I have a coif, but without the mantle, and one half-gauntlet.)
