"The Fox and the Hound 2" is nothing like i expected it to be. Worse, because the company is almost through with 2-dimensional animation, there's no hope for a third movie. Anyway...
1. Tod and Copper are kids again! Why couldn't they just call it "The Fox and the Hound: The Early Years" instead? (Guess a majority of studio execs thought younger audiences want to see more of the young pups because they think it's cuter.)
2. Because they're kids again, Vixey has been left out! She's my favorite character from the original, and i was hoping the sequel would be the adventures of their 6 cubs. (Vixey said "Oh, i think six would be just right," didn't she?)
3. Dixie is almost the film's villain! Sure. she's pretty, but a tad mean. Copper's induction into the Singin' Strays inspires Cash to fire her, so she gets even by trying to get Copper kicked out the group. She conspires with Tod to expose to Cash that Copper isn't a stray, and it works, although the plan just got the carnival trashed, got Cash even angrier at her, and Copper stopped speaking to Tod. Sure, she felt awful for what she did, and eventually softens up and rejoins the group, but her past behavior in the film is unacceptable!
4. Why aren't Dinky, Boomer and Big Mama in the film? Were there certain actors who couldn't do an impression of Pearl Bailey, Paul Winchell and D-ick Bakaylan? (Actually, it's just as well they aren't in it. I'm not a fan of birds, anyway.)
5. The back of the DVD cover shows Cash watching the fireworks with Tod and Copper. In the movie, Copper's too busy singing "We're Hound Dudes" with Cash to watch them with Tod.
