MGM Reveals Animation Slate. Five-year-old MGM Animation has announced several animated series and home videos which are in production and development. Set to debut in fall 1998 are two animated series: The Lionhearts (13 episodes), based on the MGM mascot and set to be distributed in the U.S. by Claster Television, and Robocop: Alpha Commando (40 episodes) based on the live-action feature, Robocop, to be distributed in the U.S. by Summit Media. International sales for both series will be handled by MGM Worldwide Television Group. On the development slate are the series, Stargate: The Animated Series, The Outer Limits: The Animated Series, It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World and Tiny Tank, all based on existing MGM properties. "These shows are a testament to the diversity that will become the signature of our future in this business," said Jay Fukuto, senior vice president of MGM Animation. Home videos in development include All Dogs Go to Heaven 3, Tom Sawyer, Swiss Family Robinson, The Monkees and Jack the Giant Killer. MGM will release two home videos during the holiday 1998 season: The Secret of Nimh II and An All Dogs Christmas Carol.. LOL maybe they still workin on it

I hope they are still working on it! I would hate to hear that MGM abandoned the development of the third All Dogs go to Heaven movie.

They might have scrapped it, but it says that they were developing a third one and that CC was just a release to video in '98

One problem, isn't Sony buying MGM?

Ya, most likely they scrapped it. It's a bit too late. ADGTH is pretty much dead to most of the world. But, Balto 2 didn't come until 2002, so there might be hope.

The other sad fact is many networks get away with cheaply made cartoon since people will watch them. They get cheaper and cheaper. Seems like all they need to make a cartoon nowadays is a Flash MX and a computer and someone who knows how to use it.

Hmmm, to answer anyone's thoughts, ADGTH CC isn't a 3rd movie. It's actually a Christmas Special (In Movie length) for the series according to a site.

A 3rd one? That's the CC. It would be nice if they made a 4th one though.

See this... All dogs go to heaven 3 is the same as an all dogs Christmas carol. That’s a nice thought that another adgth would be coming out. I wonder what plot it might cover, Charlie and Sasha’s pups? Note they would have to find a replacement actor for itchy, killer, and carehouse. alldogsgotoheaven.fandom.com/wiki/An_All_Dogs_Christmas_Carol
