(OOC- If you want your character to be in it, just tell me and I'll add them in )
STORY INFO: When Britney and Dale run away with Poppy to leave the trouble back in their original town, it only dawns on them when it's too late... with Poppy, trouble finds them. And banging into Charlie is not going to help. Things go from bad to worse as Poppy finds more and more trouble by being found by Carface, who tries to capture her once again (read her profile if your confused about the "again" part). And things go from worse to worst when Jimmy wants to get invovled... and things go from worst to the mega worst when Don gets tangled in it. So could you only imagine when Scott wants a piece of the bitter sweet cake?
Chapter 1: Are you leaving home?
Two setters and a setter/retriever mix ran down the street, as fast as their legs could possibly get them. Rottwilers were hot on their tails, barking, growling, snapping and snarling at them. The eldest, the retriever mix, nudged the youngest, the smaller setter, forward a little. The smallest stumbled in being shoved and let out an "eep" of fright before she regained balance and raced on. The middle one put her head down and bolted forward, followed closely by her brother. Stumbling upon a river, the little one stumbled to a stop. She was ahead of the others.
"GET IN!" the male yelled, shoving her in before jumping in himself, followed by the third. Ducking under the water, the three swam across the river, holding their breath. The rottweilers skidded to a stop, barking loudly and snarling. Foam was frothing around their mouths as they shoved and pushed to see what was happening. The male raised his head when they seemed a safe distance away, gasping for breath desperately, followed by the youngest then the middle one. The dogs were still in view, so the male led the females behind a few river rushes. It hid them enough to be invisible to them. The water hid their scent. The rottweilers gave up looking across the river and ran across the small bridge a few metres on wards to see if they had crossed the water. A few more minutes passed and the male swam out, leading the females again. He helped the two of them out of the river, shaking off his fur after wards.
"Oh my good Lord..." the middle one coughed, spitting out some river water. "That was close. Poppy? Where's Poppy?!"
"Here I am." Poppy climbed out of the river grasping her brothers paw and shaking her fur off after it, coughing a little and shivering. Poppy was the youngest out of the lot. She breathed heavily.
"I swear, you are nothing but trouble!" the male snarled. "Nothing but it! I'm telling you now, you're mad, Poppy!"
"Dale..." the middle one, Britney, said. "Calm down. She's only young, she didn't know!"
"She didn't know a pack of wild dogs would get mad if she killed the female of the pack?! The pretty much relied on her! I dread to think why but they did! For the future generation of that pack!" Dale snapped. Poppy hung her head and sighed.
"She didn't mean to..." Britney said, flicking water off her tail. "Did you Poppy?"
"No" Poppy said, in almost a whisper. "Ivy did it."
"Oh, here we go" Dale groaned, rolling his eyes. Britney sighed.
"Poppy... Ivy DIDN'T do that" she said, beginning to lose her temper. She had tried to keep calm about it (because she knew Dale wouldn't) so far.
"She did! She told me to!" Poppy yelled.
"IVY IS DEAD!" Dale yelled. Poppy gulped.
"No, her soul told me to... she possessed me-!"
"IVY... IS... A DEAD PERSON! I don't even think she's real, just some fragment of your imagination! Do you think they're gonna let us back in that city again?!" Britney seethed, flying off the handle. Poppy darted her emerald green eyes between her sister and her brother.
"Fine then, don't believe me" she said. "But it happened." Poppy narrowed her eyes and seethed, "You both think you're so better than me... you don't even think about me!"
"That's a lie, we ran away with you, you mad mutt!" Dale snarled. "... stop doing that!" Poppy was wearing a sickly sweet smile.
"Doing what?"
"You say one thing then the next thing you know, you're smiling like... like that!" Dale hissed. "No matter, as long as Ivy is gone." He spat out her name.
"DON'T SPEAK ABOUT HER LIKE THAT! SHE WAS VULNERABLE!" Poppy screeched. She suddenly spaced off, waring a bitter sweet smile again. "Starry nights, city lights falling down over me... sky scrapers, star gazers in my head..."
"... what?! You're SINGING?! Maniac" Britney hissed, shaking her head and turning away.
"Are we, we are. Are we, we are the waiting?"
"... stop that, you're freaking me out..." Dale said, wincing slightly.
"Stop what?" Poppy asked, sweetly.
Dale froze for a second before shaking his head and saying, "Never mind."
"We need to get away from here" Britney spoke. "Somewhere where they won't find us..."
"Like where?" Dale asked. "Run away to England?"
"Let's not go that far" Britney said. "Perhaps find a nearby city and settle there for a while. We could travel."
"Travel California?" Poppy inquired, her eyes glittering. "No, perhaps we could cower-"
"We are not cowering!"
"- in Egypt! So much fascinating magic happened there that I would love to study!"
"Ha, dream on. We're not letting you near any of that mad stuff" Dale scoffed. Poppy frowned.
"Why? Don't you trust me?"
"NO!" the other two yelled in unison. Poppy hung her head in disappointment.
"C'mon, I think I can see a train tracks in the distance!" Dale said, racing off. Britney wasn't long following. Poppy glanced over her shoulder before following. A train with carriages of goodness knows what was drawing up. Dale raced down the railway tracks, watching it catch up.
"Go, get on!" he ordered. Britney jumped onto the carriage. Poppy did so after, followed my Dale himself. The carriage was empty except for a few bags of stuff. Dale sighed before curling up in the corner, falling asleep almost immediately. Britney curled up elsewhere. Poppy curled up tightly beside her. Britney didn't push her away, like she would usually do. She wrapped her fluffy tail around her smaller sister.
"It'll be fine..."
