And most of the Pixar movies don't have that good of a plot. People have to stop going gaga over every movie that has spectacular special effects. Plot, character, music, and moral vlaues matter as well. I can't quite agree with you on all of that there, David. I've always thought Pixar's movies had as much invested in plot and characters as they did their effects. I really didn't think WALL-E was going to be a very appealing movie to me because I'd heard it had very little dialog. Lo and behold, Pixar managed to make me care about this rusty little robot and his pet roach living alone on an abandon Earth, and I was genuinely upset when it appeared his memory'd been wiped at the end. That takes some doing, I gotta say. Now with DreamWorks on the other hand, their flicks (for a while, at least) seemed to be nothing but one joke (crude or otherwise) after another until about the last half hour when you finally realized the film actually does have some heart to it. People going gaga over special effects are the same people who say Avatar is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
